With the new game having launched recently, Rikiya had finally found time to get started. He was looking forward to fucking with the other players on the servers, especially the PvP servers. But before he could have his fun, he had to get used to his virtual body first, and find out just what he could do.

So the cloaked mage would practice his attacks on the nearest dummy, first spraying it with flame. Once he was finished with that, he would move onto practicing his Psychic blasts. Once the flames had subsided, he decided to test an Ice Beam on the dummy, watching it frost and freeze over. Quickly coming up with an idea, Rikiya blasted it with another Flamethrower, defrosting the Wobbuffet.

He would take a break, to see what others were up to.

it was a really dumb requirement, if you ask kat.

she had to test herself against training dummies of all things? just because she was new to the game? that sucked. she considered logging out on the spot when she heard this-- but then again, most tutorial missions were as boring as this one, regardless of the game in question. with a roll of her virtual eyes, she proceeded to move towards the training area, clicking on the minimize option over the quest. she knows what she needs to do already, it doesn't need to remind her!

in any case, she began to do as it asked. she spun in place as flames flew from her avatar, hitting three different dummies all at once. next, she tested the accuracy of her ice beam - and how long it takes to freeze something solid. not bad, not bad.[break][break]
"you're a mage too, huh? which moves did you start with?" she asked, eyeing rikiya's avatar for a couple of moments between her attacks.

Rikiya's attention turned to the other mage, who was practicing her moves. She too had Ice Beam, but instead of Flamethrower, she had Fiery Dance. He had to wonder if she had Psychic like him, or if she went with a different move. But before he could get back to his game, she addressed him, asking him what sorts of attacks he was packing. "Flamethrower, Ice Beam, and Psychic.", he'd tell her, before waving his wand at an object, concentrating his Psychic power, and attempting to fling the object at a Wobbuffet dummy.

Seeing as the use of Psychic was a success, he grinned widely. That would be useful for his reign of terror, when the time came. "What about you?", he'd ask in return.

"well, you've seen two of the moves i started with already."

there was only one more left, considering... katherine was still new and in her early levels. she'd have to earn a lot more experience before leveling up and reaching the stage where her build gets more diverse and interesting. "but my third move is psychic. just like yours." not all too impressive, huh? it seemed as if most mages started the same and from that point found their own niches. kat has yet to think of hers - but the possibilities were endless. especially due to her psychic type. there was so many moves it offered that other types lacked.

to reflect a CC effect on someone sounded extra useful for her. she might just end up going that route eventually, "the training dummies are boring, though. i'd much rather test myself against actual mobs and then players."

Under the shadows of his big hat, Rikiya let out a smirk. So she had noticed that she was watching. She then revealed that her third move was Psychic, similar to his. "Interesting.", Rikiya blurted out. At the very least, Ice Beam and Psychic seemed to have some good utility to their names. He could understand what made those moves popular picks in particular. But he wanted to see just how much they had to offer in the game's setting.

"I feel you. I fucking hate boring ass tutorials.", he would tell her, before aiming for a bush, and hitting it with a Flamethrower. He saw that it caught fire, just like it would in the real world. A good attention to detail, one that was rarely seen, especially in this day and age. He had to wonder just how far this attention to detail went. Depending on the results he got, he would have a hell of a time with it.

"Any zones you thinking of hitting first after this shit's done?", he inquired, attempting to keep the conversation rolling.

katherine made a particular doll's head turn round and round, her finger spinning along with it as a pinkish glow emitted from it. there was a visible indicator for the spell. it was good to know and remember for the future - just in case she ever considers using it to sneak up on someone. "i take comfort in knowing we're at least getting enough experience here to level up." kat mentioned, before pulling the doll's head off. as it detached from the body, it faded into nothing and a new head appeared as if the one that was pulled meant little.

"..but yeah, it's still boring." the game was even designed to stop her from ruining its 'property'. how annoying. "probably where the higher-leveled mobs are. that, or a kill-enabled zone. pvp is always more fun in this type of games." she explained and admitted, turning slightly to face Rikiya again. Rikiya grinned under the virtual shadows as he heard the other player lay out her plans. Specifically, PvP was what he was aiming to do with this game. More specifically, he was going to be a griefer, just having fun fucking with people. Coming up with creative ways to cause bullshit deaths. Farming all of the hatemail that he could, maybe make some viral videos out of his experiences.

"Pretty much the same thing.", Rikiya told her, as he casually blasted a patch of grass with a Flamethrower blast. The result didn't disappoint, as he watched the fire spread around for a bit, consuming the area.

"I suppose so.", Rikiya replied to her, not at all minding her comment about catching up. After all, if they ran into one another, what decent start they might've had here would've eroded into pure hatred, once she realized just what he was up to. "I'm just playing this shit to chill. Ain't got much else going on in my life, so I got too much time to kill, y'know.", Rikiya told her, as he continued to practice with more creative applications for his three attacks.

Once satisfied, Rikiya would leave the area, turning in his quest. "See you on the other side, I guess.", Rikiya told the other mage.
